What follows is the text of H.R.C. No. 50, a resolution passed and announced by the Texas legislature today.

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the
United States reads as follows: "The powers not delegated to the
United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the
States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people";
and
WHEREAS, The Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of
federal power as being that specifically granted by the
Constitution of the United States and no more; and
WHEREAS, The scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment
means that the federal government was created by the states
specifically to be an agent of the states; and
WHEREAS, Today, in 2009, the states are demonstrably treated
as agents of the federal government; and
WHEREAS, Many federal laws are directly in violation of the
Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, The Tenth Amendment assures that we, the people of
the United States of America and each sovereign state in the Union
of States, now have, and have always had, rights the federal
government may not usurp; and
WHEREAS, Section 4, Article IV, of the Constitution says,
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a
Republican Form of Government," and the Ninth Amendment states that
"The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not
be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people";
and
WHEREAS, The United States Supreme Court has ruled in New
York v. United States, 112 S. Ct. 2408 (1992), that congress may not
simply commandeer the legislative and regulatory processes of the
states; and
WHEREAS, A number of proposals from previous administrations
and some now pending from the present administration and from
congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
hereby claim sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the
Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise
enumerated and granted to the federal government by the
Constitution of the United States; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That this serve as notice and demand to the federal
government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective
immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these
constitutionally delegated powers; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That all compulsory federal legislation that
directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal
penalties or sanctions or that requires states to pass legislation
or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Texas secretary of state forward official
copies of this resolution to the president of the United States, to
the speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the
senate of the United States Congress, and to all the members of the
Texas delegation to the congress with the request that this
resolution be officially entered in the Congressional Record as a
memorial to the Congress of the United States of America.

Awesome, just awesome. Leave it to Texas, that great state. Ok, let's pay attention here to the Q and A. These questions are important because they show you how serious all of these people are about this. The question on the national guard for example is about how to have one if Texas does not accept funding from the national government. The answer the Governor gives is clear, not a problem, we have our own. Listen to the Q and A and let's move on.

This is only two but there are more. The point is that Texas recognizes in our Federal Government the abrogation of State's rights contrary to the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution. It reads:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

That's clear and needs no elaboration from me. What is also clear is that Texas believes the United States government is overstepping this amendment. I agree. I propose that the current form of government in Washington is something our forefathers would have revolted against. That too much power is in the hands of people that are not in touch with the needs and desires of our states and citizens.

They are waking up ya'll. And we should be too if you aren't already. The implementation and morphing of Fusion Centers and Expanded Powers given to Homeland Security are frightening. The labeling by this same organization of fellow citizens as terrorist threats by their affiliations smacks of McCarthyism on a large scale. Once again the Republic of Texas has showed us the way. We'd better be paying attention when a State government is voicing it's united concern about our Federal governments behavior. Here's another guy steppin' out AWOL from America's media bullshit.

Everybody's mad at Billy Bob Thornton right now but a little thought will ease your raging sensibilities.

Perhaps he's just tired of the self absorbed pontificating media. How they apparently can't (or won't) follow instructions prior to an interview. They usually believe they are above the need to bow to requests. The video looks bad for Billy Bob. He seems to be sulking. Having attitude over an apparently trivial slight on the part of the unsuspecting and innocent radio jock @ Q fm. And then to call everyone in Canada "Mashed potatoes without gravy?" WTF is wrong with you Billy? Have you lost your mind? Are you off your meds? It's not lookin' too good for our resident hero right now.

First, was it a trivial slight? Did Thornton just over react? Think about yourself on your worst day. Would you have gotten angry for a trivial reason and then carried that anger on for over 7 long on the air minutes? Not me either. More likely is the long history of fucking with a media with average IQ of 50 constantly getting it wrong. More likely was the fact that once Thornton was in the chair they could throw the request he had made out the window. He was there to talk about his band and music. He apparently had made it clear to the station management: No talking about, not even a hint of my movie career. I'm here to talk about music. I'm not here to promote your station with the presence of Billy Bob the actor. Looked pretty bad didn't it? Looked like the poor jock was just doin' his job, doin' what management told him too, just a poor schlock who didn't get the message.

Doubt that very much. More likely was he got the message, he was told. He just decided that this little mention would be no harm. It was his show damnit and he was gonna talk about any damn thing he wanted. OK, fair enough, but be ready for the consequences of your actions. Take responsibility for them. Stand up and say, uh, yeah Billy Bobs right. We were told but damn we screwed up and he has every right to be pissed.

Could I be wrong? Yeah, I could be but after seeing the long history of both Thornton and the media, my money's on Thornton.

Senseless Death

A Father and Friend to many in our Village was senselessly gunned down early yesterday morning in Saline County Illinois near Harrisburg. Local sources say he was at a birthday celebration with extended family when the incicent occurred.

Local authorities are not releasing the name yet and so neither will I. His family is well known in our small community and respected and that small dignity should be allowed throughout this ordeal. Local sources say three men suddenly showed up at the family gathering late at night. They were from the area and had had prior minor disagreements with the owner of the Saline county property.

The three men apparently just walked into the house during the birthday celebration and started mouthing off and generally being threatening. The owner and 2 others, including the victim, escorted the three from the residence and they apparently left without further incident.
Details are less clear about the number of times they returned but apparently on a second or even third trip back to the residence one of the troublemakers opened fire indiscriminately toward the house. Three people were standing out in front and 2 were shot. One was wounded and the other killed instantly with a shot to the head. The man's 2 small children were witness to the shooting. CPR was performed on the victim until the ambulance arrived but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The other wounded man was treated at the hospital and released.

This sort of senseless violence is the kind that reminds all of us that it can happen anywhere any time. Apparently the level of altercation was minor and did not indicate that this kind of reaction was possible. To shoot indiscriminately into and at the house when two large families were present baffles the mind. I knew the victim as a child playing sandlot ball together and what's more know the victim's family fairly well. He was not a man that would have put his family or friends at risk had there been any indication that it was a possibility.

One man is in custody in Harrisburg and his identification is being witheld as are the identities of 2 other men yet to be apprehended. The police still have not found the gun.

Arrangements are still pending but as soon as I have them I will post them. May God bless and keep his family through this ordeal.

Ron Paul is Right

Ron Paul is right about many things, not the least of which is the recent faulty reasoning behind the AIG bailout. I am furious that bonuses were paid out to individuals , some amounts were in the Millions of dollars - 165 million to be exact. Wow folks, that money is yours and it will never be recovered. As Iowa Senator John Grassley said on Monday while talking to the radio audience of WMT in Cedar Rapids:

"I suggest, you know, obviously, maybe they ought to be removed," Grassley said. "But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they'd follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I'm sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide."

His spokesperson had to explain to the media that the Senator wasn't actually calling for the CEO's to commit suicide but rather to take responsibility for their actions. I think he was calling for them to kill themselves for it is the only honorable thing left for them to do.

After coming to Congress with their hats in their hands they then make a mockery of the whole thing by:

a. Immediately making it clear that they would need more---much more.

b. Paying out bonuses to people responsible for getting them into this mess in the first place.

Fox News reported on their Fox Friends program this morning that these bonuses were retention bonuses and that after receiving them many of the people resigned from their jobs on Friday. WHAT!!!!!???? The whole thrust of the argument for paying these bonuses was that they were mandated by contractual obligations. So, The CEO'S meet their contractual obligations and then the people receiving this money are not held to their end of the freakin' deal? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

This is a standout example of what Senator Paul has been saying all along; Get Government out of the business of business. This total screw up is less an example of corporate greed and more an example of governmental ineptitude. The rush to "Fix" the economic crisis overrode common sense on Capitol Hill and now their lack of foresight or even common business sense is there for all the world to see.

Do you see now America? Do You? These are the same individuals that run your day to day business with your money. These are the same people that claim expert status when telling you that they need to be running the private sector. The free market system was DESIGNED to run without government interference, hence, it is only logical that interference in the free market system by the government is anti-thetical to the whole damn process. For God's sake people the Federal Reserve isn't even a part of the Federal Government yet we the people are in debt to that institution for over a trillion dollars. The dollar is worth 3 cents today. If your stock market portfolio performed like that you would have had a contract out on your broker.

Listen to what Senator Paul says about this in an off the cuff interview in the Senate House:

Ron Paul is right. The bailout does nothing for you and I but worsen the situation. It is time: not to stand up to your government, but to be the government mandated by your forefathers in the Constitution of the Republic of the United States of America. The whole world is watching to see what we do America. What are you going to do? Anything at all? Or has greed so overrun society that we would rather the elected politicians try and buy us a little more party time? A little more time to try and make this nightmare go away?

It's not going away without drastic measures America. Either you take drastic action or they will. Either way it's going to be a tough road. But what do you want? Enslavement to a government of indecision and poor management-not only of your money but of your children's future in this world, or to take back control of an out of control mega machine on a path to destruction that will eventually bow the knee to World Opinion on everything. I know I did not grow up in an America that depended on world opinion to shape its policy-domestic or foreign. And I did not grow up in an America that was cowardly. Here is a good first step:

Here we have an average American citizen wanting to ask questions (albeit embarrasing questions) from a public servant that is payed by the citizens' tax dollars and has been for many years. This public servant has an obligation, no a duty to answer this citizens questions. That is the meaning of servant. Rangel's position in Washington requires him to answer without bullshit (which preceeded the citizen's questions-would you buy a used car from Rangel or even send him a donation for charity? Things that make me go "brrrr") and in a servant's manner, the legitimate questions of an American Taxpaying Citizen. Instead, Rangel tells the man to do exactly what he is doing already; minding his own business! The Government of America is the man asking the questions and the business of America is his.

I see little difference between this reaction and the Danish cartoon of Mohammad created. The reaction to the Danish cartoon was because the subject matter was holy to the people who follow. Are you saying that to us Oh, Obama Supporters? Is that your problem? Is that your message? Is it that we are never to touch the anointed one? Is it that you are so fearful that what you have in Obama is a house of cards; that you even see a connection between this cartoon and him? How sad. How childish and repugnant. You people making a stink about this are a stench to MY nostrils. You are now demanding the firing of a cartoonist for his freedom of speech. First amendment rights be DAMNED: OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
The cartoon is stupid, I see no humor in it but I see no humor cause it's NOT FUNNY. It's a helluva stretch between a monkey attacking an individual and the Stimulus bill. Now, It is true that President Obama has not even come close to breathing on FOCA. He and his new administration have been rightfully focused on the more immediate issues facing the nation such as the economic boondoggle, er, bailout. And as the article so clearly states there is not current FOCA legislation before the congress or anybody else for that matter. But, a brief look at the history of FOCA will show us that, as Obama said at the beginning of this video, the best defense is a good offense. If you have watched the excerpted video and read the links provided you will come to the conclusion that this is a very real issue but one that is only lurking in the shadows after previous attempts to run it through congress. In fact, a quick perusal of the legislative and judicial action pending from the list at the National Right to Life site will convince you this is a heated war on multiple fronts.

So, It was clear to me that Time's article was meant to disarm. Without outright lying, the article attempts to portray division in the anti foca movement and more specifically in the Catholic Church. I don't know about all that but I do know that I signed a petition online last night that, as of this writing, has 677,118 electronic signatures.

Almost 700,000 signatures for non-existant legislation is pretty compelling evidence that these people believe it WILL become an issue in the near future and so are mounting an offense now. So, these people are simply heeding President Obama's own words about having a good offense.

I see nothing wrong or divisive about that -Time Magazine. Abortion is murder no matter the semantics it's couched in or the cleanliness of the hospitals it's performed in. It is a matter of convenience rather than a matter of freedom. Rights are inferred upon responsible people, it is irresponsible to engage in an act that has known possible consequences and then take the life of another in order to abbrogate those consequences. Your Right to Choose ended when you chose to engage in the act that created that child. What comes after that is known as responsibility.

With the framework of FOCA in place by dint of 2 previous attempts at legislative action, I say go for it now. Begin the assault on this heinous piece of legislation that is waiting in the wings, and make no mistake, it is waiting. Because of it's previous existence it would not take much in the way of tweaking (as things go in Washington) to make this a viable piece of legislation.

After a few years had passed, things were tough all over for adam and eve. Eve was constantly pmsing now remembering the “good old days” and harping on adam that “he never took her anywhere. Adam on the other hand felt he took eve everywhere, but she always kept finding her way back. The food situation had her pissed too. Adam was growing just enough to get by. Last year he planted a new crop he had never seen before but had it on “good authority” from the snake that it would supply them food for the winter and more! Instead the cows had wandered into the field, eaten and died in a matter of days. In another snake inspired get rich quick scheme, Adam had recruited Abel and cain to learn how to play football. This way he could get the jump on the first franchise and call the shots for the new league. This was a typical snake inspired scheme in that he failed to tell adam that God already had the first franchise.
Adam decided to teach the boys the shotgun formation first. He took a snap from Abel and while Abel went long on a Hail not yet Mary pass, Cain took the lateral from his Dad. The problem came in because just looking at the tv back in the day, Adam couldn’t tell that footballs were NOT made of stone. Cain fired the long ball but the sun was in abel’s eyes and he missed the ball and was struck in the head. This being before the invention of helmets, he dropped in the end zone like a sack of potatoes. God flagged Cain for unsportsmanlike conduct. Madden and Sumerall , just beginning their careers, attempted to moderate with God, Madden even showing what happened on the telestrater. God was impressed with the telestrater but nevertheless the call stood because he WAS GOD, and so Cain was banished from the area with a mark on his head that looked suspiciously like a wedge of cheese. He moved north, got married, and named his first son Vince.
Eve was approaching mid life (475 years old) and she still didn’t have enough kids to populate the planet because adam kept accidentally killing them or getting them banished. Desperate to make her quota and sure that adam was going to keep fucking things up, Eve went to the snake and asked for help. The snake created an attorney who immediately fired off a blistering letter to Adam. The letter threatened a lawsuit if he did not cease and desist forthwith immediately if not sooner this whole football thing. If he did not ,the letter went on to say, then he would be facing criminal charges of abuse that would bring significant jail time and mandatory support of his kids until the age of emancipation, which in those days was 275 years old.
When adam signed for the letter from the attorney with a stick dipped in his own blood (much like today) he did not understand much of it but he DID understand 200 years of child support and so he dropped football and Eve dropped the charges. They went on together to spawn 300 more children before adam was buried. Eve outlived her husband by another 20% of his life span which is still the norm to this day. Everyone on the face of the planet was happy and in harmony with God and so the Attorney died prematurely.
Meanwhile, Vince - son of Cain sat in the near dark of his parent’s basement contemplating his navel. He was also thinking about the wedge he had drawn in the dust of the floor and the 3 candles placed one at each point. complaining to a friend of the snakes cousin about his need for an opposing team and how his Grandpa just wasn’t going there these days, the friend suggested this procedure. When young Vince pressed for more info on it’s purpose, the friend said simply, you will see. Vince thought he did indeed see. Looking past the lint sticking out of his navel Vince saw his yellow shoes on the second step of the basement stairs where he sat . They were glowing an eerie glow. Vince returned his attention to his true fascination though and that was the shadows being cast by the lint. If I turn this way it’s a spider, this way it’s a fluffy bunny, God he loved his bong. At that moment a fly bit vince’s calf and settled on the step between his shoes. Vince slapped his heels together instinctively and injured, but did not kill, the fly. With righteous rage rising Vince yelled out,”there’s no place in my home!” at the top of his lungs and slapped his heels together again. Still the fly was not dead and so Vince spasmed and did it three more times yelling “there’s no place in my home!” three more times. Suddenly a strong gust of wind blew the lint out of his navel and the dead fly from between his feet. Vince looked up to see a small tornado in the center of the wedge with blue and pink lightening spider webbing the funnel.
Pink? thought Vince. Anyway, the funnel died and the dust cleared and before Vince’s eyes the Snake appeared—in all His Glory. Vince was speechless.

In the beginning God decided he was lonely and wanted a friend capable of carrying on an intelligent conversation. He created man and he introduced himself as Adam and they got along famously. Soon, though, God saw that this guy had special needs and after creating every conceivable creature for his special need He finally settled on woman, albeit with grave misgivings.
Sure enough God’s fears were realized when the woman decided that what she had wasn’t enough and set her sights on the one tree in the place that she didn’t own. Unlike a lot of men today Adam actually had some cojones and told the woman to piss off, the game was today and he wasn’t arguing with God over one stupid tree. The woman was pissed but there WAS this authority thing going on between adam and God and so she wandered off to look at her heart’s desire while Adam and God watched the kick off.
The woman was pining away when the snake dropped by and said” Why the long face, Beeoch?” She told him the prob and the snake suggested that God was being a bit heavy handed about this particular dietary requirement. The snake said he heard from a friend of his cousin’s that if Eve ate the apple God knew she would have THE POWER to make Adam’s life a living hell and that God was really just molly coddling the boy. Eve was PMSing and hormones raging ripped off an apple and took a bite. She saw that indeed she felt more powerful. The snake suggested that if Adam were to have a bite it would have the opposite effect on him and Eve, thinking Adam could be helpin around the house a little more anyway, went to get him.
The snake bade her to hurry, as halftime was coming and he had special plans for the show. Eve found Adam in front of the tv and(while God was in the kitchen whippin up wings for the second half) said she had something special to show him. He told her he had already seen it and couldn’t it wait until after the game? She checked her anger and said no it wasn’t that, it would just take a minute and he wouldn’t miss any of the game( check’s in the mail, I won’t cum in your mouth). Adam decided he didn’t want to see janet and justin anyway and so he followed her to the tree.
She asked him to eat the fruit and he said are you nuts? (rhetorical question) But the snake had taught Eve a new tactic called nagging and as the second half kick off drew closer Adam ate just to shut her up. In the meantime the snake only saw one of janet’s boobs and so decided justin was going to pay dearly for that when he got here.
God roared from the kitchen when he ran out of Frank’s but Adam and Eve thought that He was pissed about the apple and so they hid. When the kick off came and Adam was nowhere in sight, God went to find him and saw that he was now dressed. God said,” what’s the deal Adam? I told you this weekend was casual.” Adam said that his wife dressed him this morning. God turned to Eve and she pointed at the snake and said “ he told me where to shop. The snake, who had been whistling and casually sliding by in an attempt to leave the garden, was suddenly stopped when he felt God’s foot on his tail. He looked up and God said, I told you T.J. maxx sucked. But since you think you know high fashion , you’ll view it from a low position from now on. As for you said God to the woman, I was gonna make you kids but they are your problem now. And its gonna hurt but you won’t care when you want some booty. God then said to Adam, I told you to watch out for this, from now on you have to support her ass and any kids she drops so you have no time to laze around watching football. All of you , get out!
So God kicked them all out of the garden knowing full well he had missed the second half. Adam and eve stopped and looked back to see two massive angels with fierce looking swords guarding the entrance.

It really is 2 am as I write this and my connection is God. And maybe He is finished taking chances with me. I can’t get through, where is He? This cloak of silence envelopes me that extends to everyone and everything I know. I am tired beyond belief. All circuits are dead, the fear truly is gone. The storm around me has set off the sirens in my head. The Hitman is coming—
And I know damn well I have been cheated.

I moved my family to Niantic in the late nineties—Niantic, my only home. There was a 53 year old man who lived down the street from us. I never got to know him, this was because 3 days after he accidently ran over our dog he killed himself with a shotgun.
I wondered what allows a person to live 53 years and then to just finish it with the slight pull of a trigger? What makes a person feel after years of standing up to life that it’s no longer an option? At the time It could not fathom it. Not even close.
I know now.
It begins with a decision you make. Might be small, might not be. But from there Chaos Theory kicks in and you are a dead man walking. One thing after another starts to happen. Things small and large, fast and slow, black and white. Some you can even see coming but for one reason or another—you can’t change what is about to happen. As sure as the sun rises your misery is not going to end. No person or organization can help you. Profound meaning is suddenly invested in Humpty Dumpty. No one can save you and God doesn’t want to. You have gone too far. Now where do you go? The only answer is when the bullet hits the bone.
As Judas Iscariot suddenly realized what he had done; that eternal fate had turned it’s back on him, He also knew there would be no earthly help. Is that what is happening? Are people starting to know when God is done with them? One minute he moves along thinking he’s doing the will of God, forcing Jesus’ hand to overthrow the Romans when he cuts a deal with the religious pricks of the day. After he does the will of God his mind clears and he knows, he knows he has sealed his eternal fate. He did not have to wait for the beatings or the crucifixion to know. He threw the money at their feet and told them they caused him to do this. He knew there was no help for him in heaven or earth. His beacon had been moved under moon and star. Soon he would know—when the bullet hit the bone.
Judas Iscariot went out and hanged himself. The “Son of Perdition”. The one pre-destined to do this deed. Life was no longer worth living and only eternal death awaited him. He knew damn well he had been cheated. Suddenly there was no fear. Circuits were dead. He couldn’t decode. It feels like being cloned into another person. Watch yourself. Down the spiral. Now you know this place is a madhouse. You see your clone move through it.
Just a double-crossed messenger. Wanted to say it’s gonna be ok. Wanted to make it all good. Wanted to say I’m fine. Down the spiral. My whole life spins into a frenzy, this far from the borderline. The gun is still warm, there truly is no fear.

American Generations

What?????

Wtf is wrong with me? Here I have been trudging through life blaming all my woes on the fact that I'm a Baby Boomer: that partying sex, drugs and rock n roll generation responsible for the destruction of our childrren's future and the demise of the planet in general- and guess what? I was wrong! Yup! That's right! I was wrong! How incredible that I did not see it before! I am not a Baby Boomer or even a Late Baby Boomer---I am a "Cusper". Yep, a Cusper.

I should have known all along. I never quite fit in to any crowd, never quite "got" the whole give peace a chance movement. Never understood the hatred for Vietnam and John Wayne. I never really got into grass; liked to drink more. Flower Power didn't make sense to me. I liked top 40 music better than I did Led Zepplin or Jimi Hendrix. Did not know why Janis Joplin, Jimmy, Jim Morrison, or any of the other rock icons died so young and so troubled by our nations policies. Anyway--Great! I'm no longer guilty of the sins of the baby boomers. I feel so free. Thank you American media for correcting this horrible misconception I was laboring under!

American Election

OK I have been avoiding this but I will address the Election from my POV.

I am an Independent but that's a happy accident. I ran first for Trustee and then Mayor of our small Village. The Village has no Primary so all Ballot entries for the village are listed as Independent candidates. I have Conservative leanings but understand some liberal POV's. I defected from the Republican party about 10 years ago but could not bring myself to become a Democrat.

During the primaries I try to look at the candidates based on their personal record and beliefs and not the party.

Billary- I did not like her from the git-go. This is based on her handling of health care back in the nineties which was so bungled it had to be swept under the rug entirely. No small feat when it involves dozens of people. They were semi successful in doing so and Hillary was never given another task on a Federal level. Also, the anger that seems always just below the surface troubles me as well.

Obama - I live in Illinois. I was a Mayor while he ran for Senate and I had the chance to rub elbows with a few people involved in his campaign. Their sheer joy at knowing he was going to speak somewhere was tantamount to a collective orgasm. I thought a few times I was speaking to these people I would have to catch someone swooning at the sound of his name. That alone was enough to scare me but I saw nothing I could hang my hat on for experience---especially in Foreign Relations. Not even John Kennedy was that green when he took office.

McCain - At first his message seemed muddled at best. I don't think he really found his stride until about 2 weeks before the election. He flip flopped on a couple issues and then raced to Washington to "help" with the "Financial Crisis" as though it was going to be fixed in a week and it would be McCain to the rescue. I think he also fumbled an opportunity to stay on the road and say" See! If I were President this would no longer be an issue!" But by running to the fray it gives the impression that he is somehow involved as part of the problem already.

Paul - OK OK Was this guy really a viable candidate? No. You want to know why? Washington is not interested in a true balance of power involving the Executive branch. IF Ron Paul had won the election, there would have been a Commander in Chief opposed by not only both Legislative Houses but the Judicial Branch as well. Any Bill he did manage to get by Congress would eventually be struck down by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional. It's kinda ironic that I feel that the Supreme Court is capable of striking down laws as unconstitutional that follow the dictates of the Constitution. I sympathize with Paul's platform, this country needs radical surgery--not a band-aid. What is happening in the United States is a cancer that is an all too familiar enemy. As Pogo said, "We have seen the enemy and he is us." You cannot read " The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire" without constantly drawing correlations between that empire and this one. And closer to home, we as a group of English Colonists incited rebellion amongst ourselves from King George and the rightful government over the issues of taxes and fees. Trust me, the freedom of religion was important too but not like the issue of money. While our freedom of religion seems to so far be intact, our taxes are a tremendous burden. This typically arises from 2 places: the greed of politicians and dependency of the masses on the government to take care of them. Don't you know that to whomever you are beholden to them you are a slave?

So I went into the voting booth and started the touch screen and the first choice was for President. I knew Paul had dropped out but what I didn't know was that he would still be on the ballot. Now what do I do? I believe in my heart that Paul is right. But I think that he has no chance to win. I understand the Obama mania but I have seen that before for the Beatles and John Kennedy. McCain has been in government quite awhile and would have the required foreign policy experience to deal with 2 active wars.

I push the touch screen for McCain. I did not want the inexperience that Obama represents but could not "waste" my vote on a candidate that was guaranteed to lose. So, if Obama through inexperience makes a bad situation worse, at least my conscious is clear.

100 pound hailstones

I have an idea where those 100 pound hailstones the bible mentions in the end times come from. There were 2 nuclear bomb tests at Bikini Atoll in the 1950's. The military set up a scenario with many ships on the ocean near the atoll to see the effect of an air burst explosion on sea going vessels. It turned out to be unsatisfactory so they set up a second test.

This time the explosion was underwater. It had the desired effect on the fleet of vessels. But there was also another effect mentioned in conjunction with the blast. The extremely hot mushroom cloud ascended into the sky and and the cap of it turned to ice. What fell on nearby areas were recorded as 100 lb. hailstones.

In fact, it seems to me that many of the plagues in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ can be tied to the direct effects of nuclear war. The tongues and eyes melting in the heads of people. Massive earthquakes the likes of which have never before been seen. The pollution of the seas and rivers. The green grass and trees being burnt up. The terrible boils on peoples skin. I think this is partly why men refuse to repent in spite of these things. These things are not the judgement of God, why, this is just the normal consequences of a nuclear exchange.

I have believed for awhile now that the second coming of Jesus would not be recognized for what it was any more than the first was. While everyone was looking for Messiah, very few recognized Jesus when he came. The current thinking of the day believed that Messiah would overthrow the Roman Government and free the Jewish nation. Jesus did not offer that option and so it was easy for the religious people of the day to stir up strife and unbelief in him because the people were expecting someone else.

These days we are expecting something else as well. We are taught by books too numerous to count by preachers making good money on them that we will not be present for the Tribulation period. Possibly. However, I think that the end looks nothing like we think it will and that is why when Jesus comes it will be as a thief in the night. Everyone will be shocked that it is time and that it is He. That is why, I believe, that He had to tell us that when He came it would be as the lightning from the east to the west. That way we are not fooled by any other so called "coming" of the Messiah. (by the way, that is not a contradiction. Jesus' coming will be as a thief in the night, sudden and unexpected. His manner of coming as lightning from horizon to horizon will leave no doubt as to who he is).

I believe that when Jesus healed the sick and lame it was nothing spectacular like it is in the movies. He healed that person and to the unbelieving eye it looked surprisingly ordinary in it's method. Or, it's results were questionable in that maybe this person that was just healed was never really sick. Just a thought. But it is in my mind that miracles of God are probably very mundane looking and the Judgement of God is generally executed through men. Armies were allowed to conquer Israel to punish them in the old testament and the Diaspora was the result of the revolt and subsequent destruction of the temple along with the crushing of the Jewish nation and dispersal of her people.

I believe God will once again use the tools of men to bring about his wrath in the end. This will hide his wisdom from unbelievers until the last minute. Jesus said He spoke in parables for a reason. God may continue to do so yet today.

American Grace

Have you been watching Nancy destroy the Anthony family? Are you like me that this makes you sick to your stomach and grieve for the Anthony's? Today was the last straw for me as little Caylee's Grandpa had to go and testify in front of the Grand Jury about the inexplicable behaviour of his daughter. While his wife and best friend watched him go this morning the media sharks led by Grace for the last several weeks savaged every juicy, bloody morsel out of this tragic set of circumstances without regard for the stress and grief of the family and friends of the Anthonys. In the meantime the gullible believe. The gullible follow. The gullible make it their business.

The gullible sit in lawn chairs across the street from the Anthony's property and harass them every chance they get. These are sad little people that have no lives and so spend their time stepping on others in order to elevate themselves in their own small minds. Imagine taking your CHILDREN to such an event so they can witness first hand what morons they have for parents. The media spawns these modern day wannabe vigilantes and Nancy Grace leads the way.

And today on the CNN web site is a Grace segment showing Casey and her boyfriend renting videos. She is making a big deal out of the type of videos being rented; Jumper and Untraceable.

This is described as STUNNING new video and the movie Jumper is described as being about a mother who abandons her 5 year old son. Is that what that movie is about? I haven't seen it but I don't want to now. The trailers indicated an adventure movie to me but I must have been wrong. This is sleaze journalism at it's worst and borders on liability. Nancy and her producers should write for a super market tabloid since they are so good at generating news out of nothing.

I heard Nancy give a verbal nod the other night to the Anthony's misery, but in my mind its far too little in the face of what she's done to this family. Given her court record as a prosecuting attorney her tactics do not surprise me. Check out her Bio in Wikipedia.

She has ventured more than once into the arena of twisting opinions to her needs. Even so far as to not turn over evidence to Defense attorneys. But then her opinions about defense attorneys are well known.

People are now tried and convicted well before they go to court.
